Deposits

We take 20% non-refundable deposit at the time of booking a paint at home party. This fee is to cover loss of business should you need to cancel and are unable to rebook an alternate date.

An additional deposit scheme is in place for hire of our DIY party supplies (i.e. brushes, water pots, paint containers, mixing palettes etc).  This deposit is returned when the complete inventory of each kit is returned in a good and reusable condition.

Sadly, because of the high volume of late cancellations, our deposits for workshops are now also non-refundable, these deposits cover costs of materials and fees any third party provider may be charging the studio to visit and teach a workshop.

Returns & Refunds

As per our Returns Policy, all purchases of items which have been personalised are non-refundable, although we will always endeavour to rectify any reasonable issues which may occur.

In the event that a problem occurs during the glazing or firing process a full refund will be issued within 14 days of the problem occurring.

Cancellations

Parties: We understand that sometimes life happens and occasionally you may need to move the agreed party date. We will always try and accommodate these changes as much as possible. We ask that you give us at least 48 hours if this does become necessary.  If you do not plan to hold your paint at home party and it is cancelled in full then the deposit of 20% given at the time of booking is non-refundable. This will be used against the loss of income.

Workshops: Again, we understand that occasionally you may need to cancel your upcoming workshop. We will always try to offer to move you to another suitable workshop.  But we do not offer refunds for workshop cancellations - the deposit is in place to secure materials and equipment - and will be used against loss of income.

Postage & Delivery

If you retire postage we will always wrap your pottery properly and send items vis Royal Mail - but we cannot guarantee your parcel against breakages - postage is at your own risk.  Postage & packaging is at cost and will be quoted and paid for when you pay for your pottery in the studio.  If you choose to paint from home you are welcome to collect your pottery and kit (if required) from our studio in Ferndown, however if you would prefer hand delivery or postage, these will be quoted separately depending on your location - to be paid at the time of paying for your pottery - return of the pottery is your responsibility, unless otherwise agreed.

Postage should be selected at checkout - if the wrong postage is selected, we will contact you to correct the invoice amount. If you have queries about distances etc just give me a call on 07723 373698 or email me at potsandpaint.uk@gmail.com (or you can use Google Maps to check, by using the measure distance tool).

Home Paint Kits

Our home paint kits (and paint bottles) are supplied in good faith with a small refundable deposit - which will be returned when the full kit is recieved back.  All items should be in the returned in the condition which they were received in.  Breakages or lost items will be individually charged and deducted from the deposit.  Home paint kits are loaned out for a 7 days period. If you exceed this limit a fee of 50p/day may be applicable, at the discretion of the management, to be taken out of your deposit.

If a home paint kit is not selected at checkout it is assumed that you have the items required to decorate your pottery (i.e. brushes, mixing palettes etc) at home and the paint will be supplied in disposable pots to ensure nothing but the pottery is expected to be returned when it comes to firing.  You are welcome (and encouraged) to return these pots also - as I am able to top them up to minimise paint wastage or clean then out to reuse where possible.

Paint

We provide a range of colours to paint your pots, the volume of paint supplied is based on the amount/size of items purchased. Once the paint is fired it will be a brighter version of what you have painted - this will match to the colour index we supply in the home paint kit.  You can easily mix colours to make new hues which suit your taste - but be aware this means the final fired colours will differ from the colour index.

The containers the paint is supplied in are intended to be reusable and should be returned when you hand your pottery back for painting and are part of the inventory for the deposit - if a deposit is not paid then you will receive your paint in disposable containers.   Please do not mix any remaining paints in the bottles, as I always try to minimise waste and will reuse paint whenever possible.

The paints used are actually specialist non-toxic (but non-edible), water soluble tinted glazes which will survive the firing process - if you use alternative paints on your pottery, i.e. acrylic, watercolour etc, they will likely damage your painting and possibly effect the final clear glaze I use to finish your item - I will not issue a refund in the instance where non-glaze paints have been used on your pottery.

The paint is normally easily washed out of clothes, but I always recommend using an apron - especially for smaller children.
