About the event

Pots & Paint are very excited to be hosting Maisie, The Touring Potter, for a special pot throwing day at the Ferndown studio.

During each 1.5 hour session you will have use of your own wheel, so with a demonstration and introduction (along with plenty of encouragement and guidance too) from Maisie you will be throwing your own pots or bowls in no time.  You will be able to throw up to two pots each, after which you will be able to select your prefered artisan glazes to coat your pieces. Maisie will then take your creations to her studio for drying and firing, after which they will be returned to Pots & Paint for collection (this can take up to eight weeks).  On the rare occaison when a crack or breakage of your pot occurs Maisie will even make you a full replacement!

For health and safety long hair must be tied back, aprons must be worn (supplied for the session) and long nails must be cut.  Cuttings wires are used on the clay and to remove your pots from the wheel - which will all be supervised by Maisie.  There is a minimum age requirement of 10 years old for this session.

As usual drinks and snacks will be available at the studio if you need extra energy to throw those pots!

This session is £40 per person, maximum of four people per session.  A£25 non-refundable deposit is required to book your session, with the remaining £15 payable on the day. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the studio for more info!
