About the event
Join me to build your own pot!
Using clay and some simple techniques we will each make a small pot, perfect for flowers, pens or small plants. After building your pot you will then have access to a variety of tools and basic colours to decorate in the style you like.
You will be supplied with approximately 1.5kg of white earthenware clay and this will be enough to make one pot with extra for decoration. Each pot will be approximately 8-9cm in diameter and between 8-12cm high, depending on the style you prefer.
This two hour session will be fully guided and limited to 8 people to ensure everyone is included and all questions can be answered. There will be no heavy lifting or wheel work involved, but due to the use of sharp tools no children under 16 will be allowed - this is an adult only session. After you have finished making I will take your pots to my workshop to allow them to fully dry, after which they will be fired to turn the pots from clay to bisque. They will then be carefully hand glazed and fired again to create a smooth shiny finish, which will be watertight.
A £5 deposit is required to secure each place - this will be non-refundable (except in the case of a COVID related issue) and goes towards the cost of materials and venue. Please let me know if you have any questions.
