If you need the item sooner I may be able to fast track your item (workload permitting), please email for details before you make your purchase.   Fast track means once we receive your prints we will make and dispatch the item within 7 days, there is an additional £10 charge for this service - email me with your request before you order.

VISITING THE STUDIO

We are happy to welcome our customers back to the Ferndown studio where we can take a print in person to produce your piece, please contact us direct to arrange your appointment.

TAKING PRINTS AT HOME

Full Prints:  You may already have a print available which you want to use for your piece, if this is the case then we can start working on your jewellery as soon as you send it in to us. You can either scan or photograph the print (in good lighting) and email it to us at potsandpaint.uk@gmail.com. The print is best with black ink or a thin coat of dark paint on a white background - if not black, a dark colour is best.

You can also take a print using a home scanner/photocopier (most modern home printers have integrated scanners), you can literally scan your hand/foot or paw, save a copy and email it to us. When taking prints from babies or pets you should make sure their palm/foot/paw is flush to the screen - don't worry if your fingerprints are visible in the scan, we can take them out in the editing phase.

Alternately, you can order a magic inkless print kit using the options available at checkout to take a print at home (instructions come with the kit).  You can then scan or photograph an image of the print and email it to us at potsandpaint.uk@gmail.com

Fingerprints: For the best print we recommend visiting our Ferndown studio (by appointment only), however if this is not possible we can send you a home print kit. As this print kit is a physical mould of your print you will need to package and return the print (returns label supplied), postage fee for this is not included and return postage is to be paid by the buyer.

Taking Prints
QUALITY

In all instances we try to get the best and most true prints possible - occasionally we see prints which have particular smudges or smears … because we know they can be tricky to get perfect ones with wriggly little babies and toddlers … so we will then use our discretion to remove obvious extra messy bits to get the best image for your item.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

HOW DO I PLACE AN ORDER?

Simply decide if you would like a fingerprint or full print (hand, foot or paw prints) item, then choose your design, including the shape of the pendent, charm or key chain, the finish you would prefer (brushed silver or antiqued with a high shine finish) and contact us with the details, don't forget to let us know if you need a home print kit and if you need to add a chain (priced individually). We will then make you a personalised invoice and payment link.

HOW DO WE SEND OUR PRINTS?

Once you have paid for your order you can either email us a scan or high quality image of the print you would like us to use (full prints only), you can make an appointment to come to our studio to have a print taken (fingerprints only) or we can send you a home print kit (any prints). When a print is received we will email you to let you know we are underway with your order.  For more details see our Taking Prints section above.

WHAT ARE THE PAYMENT OPTIONS?

Through our secure ordering system we accept all major credit and debit cards and PayPal to pay for your purchase.  You are also welcome to pay directly into our account via bank transfer, simply ask for details when we send your invoice and payment link.  Once payment is received we will start processing your order - remember we are unable to start work on your order until prints are received - see our Taking Prints section above to see how this works.

HOW DO YOU SHIP MY JEWELLERY?

To make sure your item is delivered as safely as possible we use Royal Mail Registered post within the United Kingdom. This service is complimentary for UK orders over £70 for orders less than £70 a flat fee of £4.95 is applied to each order to cover postage, packaging and handling. Please be aware that we do not pay postage for returning home print kits - this is the responsibility of the buyer (a return postage label is included). We will email you to let you know when your item is on its way.

ARE THERE CARE INSTRUCTIONS?

If you choose you jewellery to have the antiqued finish please be aware that the effect will be removed if you use a liquid jewellery cleaner. To keep your item in the best condition it is advised that occasional light buffing with a jewellers cloth should be sufficient to keep your pendent in good condition.

WHAT'S YOUR RETURNS POLICY?

Each custom made item made in our studio is handmade to order using the supplied prints, as such we do not accept returns on these items. If you are not happy with your finished piece then please contact us and we will endeavour to fix the problem. However if you order a non-personalised item you are welcome to return your item to us within 14 days if it is unused and in the original packaging.
